The dining table was set on an angle just after we brought it from storage in June. We liked it and should have left it that way…however, just about a month ago we moved it to a different position.
We wanted to try the armchairs behind the sofa. It looked pretty good, but we weren’t completely happy with that arrangement. Molly has her own opinions about our home. She was not happy with the chairs behind the sofa and certainly did not care for the table in the new position.
I took the chairs back to the table and moved the sofa back about 8 or 10 inches. Still plenty of room to walk through to the bedroom and a lot less cluttered without the chairs. The table will stay on the half wall. It is part of the scheme, using the PB trellis on the stairway wall.
The crocks are lamp cord camouflage.
I know this angled from the corner dining table configuration is a negative for some folks, but it is working out great for us. We’ve tried it other ways. This just makes more sense for our home and the space seems roomier and welcoming.
There are times when things just don’t work.
These photos show the table on the straight and narrow. As you can see it is very close to the doors. There is no room for chairs at the ends.
