Happy Labor Day!
Are you anywhere near blogland this weekend? I’m finding other ways to spend my time, like Netflix. We are fairly new to Netflix and enjoying.
We are celebrating Labor Day, Pat and J style.
70’s Style
Running an errand, this morning, required attire other than pajamas. I’m not quite ready for shopping in my jammies. Since I had to get dressed anyway, I decided to try a new top from Soft Surroundings. I wore it with the light grey Christopher and Banks/CJ Banks crops. Works for me! Those pants are great.
The top is still available at Soft Surroundings. When I ordered mine I used my birthday discount. I believe I will keep an eye on the website and watch for the top to go on sale; might be able to pick up another color.
The bracelet is from my visit to Designer Resale Boutique (St Peters on Mid Rivers) a couple of weeks ago. It is all one piece with a magnetic clasp.
Fried Apples
I don’t know if this dessert would be called fried apples by the experts. It is what we call fried apples.
Two apples, sliced without peeling, 1/4 cup sugar mixed with a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1 tablespoon real butter. Melt butter in non stick skillet, add apples and sugar mix. Stir together and cook until apples are tender and the juice and sugar mixture thickens slightly. Cool a bit. Serve warm, in ice cream dishes, topped with vanilla ice cream. You can probably do a sugar free version. We have this so seldom, I just make it with sugar, remembering moderation is key. Two apples make just enough for two servings, the size of those in the photo. I set the dishes on Fall plates…just because.
