Places of Our Hearts
Room by room, we are settling in. The guest room was finished last week. There will be changes and touch ups, of course.
Accessories are reminders of day trips, travels and meanderings.
The little chair was purchased in Columbia Missouri one February day during a snowstorm. We are determined meanderers.
The hat is handmade, from Charleston South Carolina. The log house, made of reclaimed wood, is from Saint Charles Missouri.
The swan was purchased at a shop on South Main Street, Saint Charles Missouri, several years ago. It reminds us of a special day at Festival of the Little Hills with old friends. The print above the chest is a poster for the 2006 Lilac Festival on Mackinac Island Michigan. We were there with family.
The American Gothic print is a poster. It was used as a label (now retired) for St James Winery Country Wines, St James Missouri.
The yellow floral and brown checked bedding is from Linen Source, a few years ago. It was used in a guest room at our former home.
The pretty little chandelier with a bit of sparkle replaced a flush mount ceiling fixture.
Bird lamps are from Uttermost, lidded bowl is from Home Goods. Print of gates of Charleston is a souvenir from a trip to South Carolina.
All accessories were used in our former home.
The photo in the gold frame is one I shot at Bennett Spring State Park, Missouri. The print in front is Rainbow Row, Charleston South Carolina.
The sunflower pillow is several years old. I can’t remember where it was purchased. The print above the bed is John Pils’ depiction of Historic South Main Street, Saint Charles Missouri.
An artsy shot of the dining area; another work in progress.
Every house where love abides
And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest.
