We ordered the table and chairs from Ethan Allen last Fall. The set arrived a few weeks before the house sold. The tags were still attached when it was moved to storage. I ordered the living room and dining area rugs from Overstock while we were waiting for our new floors and painting to be finished. I can’t believe the rusty reds blend, considering it was all done from memory.
This photo, taken before the table was moved in, shows the corner vignette. When the living room and kitchen are finished (soon, I hope) I’ll take long shots to show the layout of the open plan.
The dining area, as other rooms in our new home, is decorated with odds and ends we’ve had for years, picked up at various store sales, garage sales, All About Home, other local shops, and Home Goods.
This rooster and hen container is a copy of an antique used in a photo shoot of one of Charles Faudree’s homes. I don’t recall which book the photo appeared in. Our books are still packed. In the photo, the vase is sitting on a table in an entry hall. I found the piece at Three French Hens, St Louis.
Pothos in copper for the center of the table. An ideal indoor plant, Pothos doesn’t ask for much. It’s an absolute powerhouse if you are looking for easy care greenery. Caution: Pothos is toxic, especially for children, dogs, cats. The sap will also cause a rash for people with sensitive skin. We’ve had Pothos in all our homes, it caused no harm to our children or animals. It is something to think about if you choose to have it in your home.
