Even though most of our furniture is still in storage, I do little vignettes in our home.
The cabin is made of reclaimed wood from restoration of buildings on Historic South Main Street, St Charles MO. The chair is from an antiques shop in Columbia MO. The hat is handmade, from Charleston SC.
Do you remember the bird lamps in the foyer of our former home? I’m trying them in the guest room of our new home. A pencil sketch of gates of Charleston SC and a pitcher of pink tulips complete this simple vignette.
This light fixture, in the guest room, replaced a flush mount fixture.
A print of John Pils’ South Main Street hangs above the Ashley Signature bed, we found at Weekends Only. My plan is to use the brown gingham and yellow and brown quilted floral bedding I used in the smaller guest room of our former home
The Labrador Retriever print is from Nell Hills about 7 or 8 years ago. I bought it because the Lab resembles Molly. The other print is from a garage sale several years ago. The prints hang in the hallway between the guest room and tv room.
The flush mount fixture in the tv room was replaced with this lantern. The light fixtures, in both rooms, are from Lowe’s.
Later today, someone will be here to bid a deck. This will be our last big project for our new home.
The top picture of the collage is a view of the cedars from the dining area slider. Our plan is to have a nursery trim the cedars, mulch the area around the trees and plant a few shade loving plants, such as hosta.
The lower slider leads from the basement.
