We needed a small chair for the living room. I wanted a contemporary look, neutral fabric, reversible cushions. I found the chair I had in mind, last week.
It fits perfectly in this corner of the great room.
The fabric is herringbone in beige, with a hint of green.
We brought a few more things from storage over the weekend, including the animal print lumbar pillow.
This gull sat on the deck at our weekend place several years. Even though he is faded and chipped, we brought him to the TV room. He fits right in with the boat and water scheme coming together in this room. The gull is a whimsical reminder of happy days at the lake.
Gulls exist in the Midwest, so it is quite appropriate to use this one in the decor of the condo and here at our new home. I have been chastised for using non regional accessories in specific decor.
Use what you love in your home. Others may not like what you choose or they might believe you should not use accessories or themes that aren’t found regionally. It is your home, do what you like.
J found the antler lamp at Weekends Only.
I found the perfect cabinet for the TV in this room. The canvas print above the cabinet will be changed when we put a TV in here. The canvas is from a Plein Air painting of Falls Lodge, Big Cedar Lodge, south of Branson.
The Great Outdoors
Sod was put down last week. You can see clay in the background. That is the lot next door. That lot is sold. The lot on the garage side of our home is also sold.
We added a few things from our former gardens. The hummingbird rain gauge, a bird pick and a bunny welcome sign. J is collecting rocks. We did not bring rocks from our former home, even though we brought each and every one of them from the farm.
Saint Francis is from the hearth room garden at our old house. All the shrubs were here when we moved in. We added a couple of pots of pansies.
We have several pieces of Lake of the Ozarks driftwood in the front garden areas.
