This photo is from last Winter. We drove home in flurries today. Snow is sort of predicted for the weekend…let’s talk about something else…like clothes and shoes and such.
Sleepy eyed Pat, Wednesday morning.
I was awake by 3am. The wakeup call rang at 5am. That’s me, killing time while J prepared for our drive to St Luke’s. I just had to send a photo of that outfit to my old friends J and G.
Middle daughter Kim (Xanti and Noah’s Mommy) met me in the surgery waiting room, with coffee and bagels, around 7 or so. There we waited. The call from the surgeon came a little after 9am. All went well! We met J at outpatient waiting area a little after 10.
By noon, we were back at the hotel. Kim brought us soup and a turkey sandwich for lunch. J had no dietary restrictions. By 1:30pm we were fast asleep. We slept off and on for the next 12 hours, then slept some more.
I discovered my level of stamina was a tad lower this time. Over the past 30 or so years, J has had multiple hospital stays and procedures. This time was not as prolonged or invasive as others. But for some reason, we are both dragging along! I hesitate to use the A word…you know, “age”.
After I did a wardrobe post, earlier this Fall, I received several requests for more. As I was packing, for this week, I snapped a few photos. The plan was to put together a post at the hotel. However, I really needed the sleep rather than post composition.
The vest in this photo is from Chico’s last year. It’s one more reason why Chico’s is my friend. I’m not compensated for this post. I’m mentioning Chico’s because I love the store.
I wore the vest with a black turtleneck and black pants, Tuesday.
Gotta have ‘em comfy cozy PJs and slippers.
We are having a bit of a November cold snap. I brought out hat, scarves, gloves.
Socks and sensible shoes replaced sandals this week.
I have several ruanas. This one is my favorite. I wore this, with a black scarf this week.
I use these until winter temps drop pretty low and I need to wear something heavier.
The outfit I wore to the hospital, Wednesday, is this Chico’s long length cardigan sweater, with Chico’s Traveler pants and Chico’s long length turtleneck. The Traveler pants are so very comfortable. The chains are Brighton.
I wore the ruana over this and was warm, even though the temperature was in 20’s and the wind…never mind the wind. Let’s just say I was happy to have garage parking!
I believe this cardigan and the other pieces are still available at Chico’s. Extended sizes are offered.
For the ride home today, I wore the grey Chico’s turtleneck, a black cardigan from Soft Surroundings, black pants, and the animal print scarf, from Target a couple of years ago. Soft Surroundings is another of my favorites for clothing and other things.
Both Chico’s and Soft Surroundings have clothing in a variety of styles for ladies of a certain age, even when they are like yours truly…a tad bit zaftig.
We intend to spend a quiet restful weekend.
Thank you so much for the prayers and good thoughts. We appreciate them!
Enjoy your weekend!
