Friday August 1…we are settling in here at the apartment and enjoying a couple of days of much needed rest.
We will take a trip back up north this evening; the back and forth travel continues.
I finished furnishing the tiny bedroom in our apartment. We brought most things from home; the bed is a new purchase.
We tried to keep the furnishings as lightweight as possible, making sure they would fit in the back of our car and, for the most part, easily carried by the two of us.
Other than the bed, we had help with the living room chairs and kitchen table and chairs. We transported most other things ourselves.
BEFORE
The bench was used at the lake condo. It serves a couple of purposes in this room. It holds coverlet and shams overnight, plus the baskets are great for clothing etc.
The white canvas cushion was with the bench when it was purchased at Home Goods last year.
Using fabric and Duck Tape, I gave the cushion an easy no sew makeover.
AFTER
More lightweight storage is found in the nightstands. We will pick up a small table at home, for J’s pacemaker monitor and c-pap machine.
There is an ample walk in closet, as well. You will not be surprised to know a stack of dishes has already found it’s way to a corner in the closet.
Two prints from Home Goods.
The cage is from All About Home, Troy Missouri.
Pottery, made by a Missouri artisan, holds twigs.
Frog from the back porch at home.
I’ve lived in this neck of the woods almost 50 years and J has lived here all his life, so it is no surprise we ran into someone we know…right here at the apartment complex.
We like it here and hope the house sells soon, so we can plan the little cottage.
Still dreaming, after all these years.
