~Crocks & Cloches~

This Throwback Thursday post is the second in what I hope to be a series of posts, using photos and posts from Back Porch Musings, the original (2007~2010).

The post, featuring crocks and cloches, was published July 15, 2010.

A blue green crock, handmade by a North Carolina artisan, sits under a chicken wire cloche.  The crock was a gift from Jeanne, of Backyard Neighbor, when she and her husband visited Missouri in 2009.

Crocks are a special favorite of mine.

This photo shows a little snippet of how the living room looked in 2010. There have been a few changes.

The paisley sofa is in J’s lodge (basement family room). It will be one of the items we will try to sell, as we prep the house.

Speaking of house prep; we have secured a storage building and will begin moving a few things today and tomorrow. When we prepped the house, two years ago, I packed several small cartons of seasonal dishes. Those cartons are still packed.

We have leased an apartment and plan to move there next month, while we get the house ready for listing and during the time we have it on the market.

Fortunately, everything is in pretty good shape. Our painter guy will be here after July 4th. The master suite will be painted Sherwin Williams Antique White.

When we first began thinking about relisting our home, last Winter, we dreaded all the prep. After a walk through, we believe there is not as much to worry with as we thought.

We will store things we want to keep and sell or donate others. Hoping to leave only what is needed to “stage” our home.

Slow and steady, not rushing, is the plan. Because we did this two years ago and because we have had several months of planning, we hope to keep the stress level manageable.

Even though the in between home is temporary and tiny one bedroom apartment, I plan to make it cozy. It’s in an absolutely gorgeous gated apartment complex. Molly is welcome there. That was a priority.

We aren’t rushing with the move to the apartment and we aren’t taking much, so that transition should be fairly easy. Plus we geared up for all this two years ago, so we are well prepared emotionally to move on. We are ready to get this show on the road!

We plan to enjoy our weekend and hope you do too.
