Miss Aimee B’s is a tea room, just a few blocks from Historic South Main, Saint Charles, Missouri. Click the highlighted link for info.
The tea room is in an antique brick home, beautifully maintained, with a wonderful garden terrace. There is a gift shop, as well.
A few years ago, the day eldest daughter chose her wedding veil and head piece, J and I had lunch with her, and our granddaughters (bride’s maid and flower girl), at Miss Aimee B’s. It was a special place for lunch on a very special day.
Miss Aimee B’s serves lemonade with a different sort of twist. Would you believe milk is an ingredient? It’s true; this delicious lemonade is made with milk. I hope you give it a try. I don’t believe you will be disappointed.
Miss Aimee B’s Lemonade
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups milk
3 cups club soda
Wash lemons, cut off ends and quarter. Squeeze juice into a glass bowl.
In blender, coarsely chop lemons (do not puree). Add chopped lemons to juice. Add sugar, stir well and let sit 30 minutes. Add milk; stir well. Cover; refrigerate several hours or overnight.
Strain mixture. In a glass, combine 1/2 cup lemonade mixture, 1/2 cup club soda and ice. Stir well.
I’m sure this recipe can be modified for those with dairy allergies. However, I believe it needs to be made with real sugar, to work the way it’s supposed to.
