Streamlining the Dining Room
It started with a table. Well, actually it started when I asked J if we could take a little walk through the furniture store. It’s good to shop/buy local. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
This photo and the following two photos show the dining room, as it looked in January 2014.
As soon as we walked in the door of the furniture store, we both saw the table.
American Drew oak (real wood) drop leaf sideboard…discontinued….drastically marked down. Who could resist!
We are so proud that we managed to bring the table home and get it from the car (Acadia) into the house; not always an easy feat for us these days.
The sideboard is the perfect place for the tureens. It’s as if they were made for each other.
Lately, I’ve wanted to move some of the furniture and accessories out of the dining room. Buying the new table was the perfect opportunity to change a few things around. The room is lighter and less crowded now.
The canvas print was purchased at the same time as the table. The irises are beautiful in our dining room.
What about the chest? It found a new home. That is a story for another day.
