Independence Day in the dining room.
After
We are taking the slipcovered dining room chairs to the apartment we are leasing temporarily. These ladder-back chairs were brought up from the basement.
The lace has been removed from the windows.
Before
A Downsizing Update
House prep continues. We are clearing the Christmas/seasonal corner in the basement. There are still a couple more seasonal containers to move. Three trees will be taken to storage after that. There are dishes in the containers shown, also.
Eventually we will or won't get around to going through this thirty year Christmas decorating obsession..ummm, collection, J started with one Hallmark Wildlife Pheasant ornament, in 1983. What was he thinking!
We’ve donated some things and will donate more as we move along.
We worked out a pretty good schedule; working during the morning, stopping at noon for lunch, and nap in the afternoon. We might pack a box or two or load something, in the evening, to take to storage early next morning. There is no method to our madness. I packed a box of dishes, the other morning,while the coffee water heated. That type of packing seems to suit us best. We don't want to be manic about this downsizing thing!
Rather than exhaust ourselves with constant work, we decided a siesta is needed during afternoons. So far so good.
