During January a small change was made in the master bath, with this small candlelit chandelier.
Makeover projects don’t have to be involved or expensive to make a difference.
A mantel for the back porch fireplace was a project we had on the list for quite awhile. In February our trim guy put together this mantel, beautiful in it’s simplicity and perfect for the porch.
J and I stained the mantel. That was the extent of our work on the project, other than the design.
We need to talk to trim guy about an interior project or two for 2014.

Summer Porch~New Mantel 2013
During 2013 we replaced old an worn furniture on the patio, with a sofa and coffee table. The table and chairs were updated with new tiles and cushions. We brought the sofa indoors for winter, where it found a temporary home in the hearth room.
During Autumn we replaced the white linen tie style curtains, with bamboo shades, in the breakfast room and hearth room.
We like this look for our home much better.
November brought changes to the master bedroom, with paisley and plaid bedding, cozying up the room for Winter.
Home projects don’t need to involve power tools and paint. A new rug from Lowe’s and clearance bedding from Pottery Barn is all that was needed to freshen the master bedroom.
Comfy corner in the master bedroom.
Our biggest project of the year was the preparation for sale of our second home, the condo at Lake of the Ozarks. As much as we enjoyed our home away from home, the past 10 years, it was time to downsize, just a tad. Our prep work was successful. We closed on the sale in October.
You can see how we set the stage for the condo sale HERE.
