Lately, I’m seeing lots of inspiration from Christmas past around the blogs. I imagine everyone is as busy as we are, getting things together for Christmas 2013.
While taking a little break from tree trimming, I glanced through BPM posts from 2010 and found one or two from our visit to Missouri Botanical Garden in December 2010 during the Flower and Train Show.
Besides the gorgeous Poinsettias and other seasonal flowers, we saw a wonderful display of wreaths from floral designers around the Saint Louis area.
If you are in the Saint Louis vicinity and would like to see the beautiful botanical garden all done up for the 2013 holidays, the Flower and Train Show runs from November 23 thru January 5. For more information about this event and others, go to Missouri Botanical Garden via this LINK.
CHRISTMAS PRESENT IN OUR HOME
Christmas work around our home is in full swing.
Here is a look at our hearth room tree, in progress. Every time I say it’s finished, I change my mind and add or subtract. I’m using ribbon from Michael’s, $ store snowflakes, and berries from my Christmas stash. A simple country tree set in a galvanized tub.
The living room is finished. It is all glitz, gold and copper, with a little woodland thrown in for good measure.
We still have lots of work, including front and back porches, J’s lodge, the dining room, breakfast room, and perhaps a corner of the kitchen.
Thanksgiving Plans
Taking a couple of days to relax, we will meet our family Friday evening, to participate in a benefit Trivia Night. Sunday we will get together to celebrate Thanksgiving. Granddaughter and grandson in law will be in town next week. They have lots of Thanksgiving stops, so we plan to meet them for lunch, since they won’t be able to be with us Sunday.
Enjoy your weekend!
