September is our time to prepare the outdoor spaces for cooler weather. If we pay attention to the almanac we will prepare for a rough winter, this year. I would say we are about due for wintery mix.
We were trying to decide about where to store the patio sofa until Spring, when I had one of those light bulb moments. I didn’t want to cover it and leave it outdoors. I decided it might look okay in the hearth room.
Granddaughter Xanti took the old hearth room sofa to KC when she got married last Spring. I’ve looked at several sofas and still do not know what I want, to replace the other one. Meanwhile the patio sofa will do.
I purchased several drop cloths to make neutral no sew cushion covers. I am still deciding about doing that.
I tucked one of the drop cloths around two cushions to see how they would look with the neutral covers.
When we brought the sofa in, I noticed the green cushions tie in well with the chairs of many colors in the breakfast room. Perhaps I will leave the cushions green for awhile.
The wing chair was moved in from the master bedroom. The bench is from the lake condo.
Labor Day weekend, I ordered the rug from Overstock.com. It arrived Thursday afternoon. I have ordered several things from Overstock. I’ve been pleased with price and quality every time.
We had routine checkups (great) at our primary doctor, Wednesday. On the way home we stopped at Taubman Outlets in Chesterfield MO. This is a new outlet mall. There is a second new one in Chesterfield, we will check out another time. I found the plaid throw at Restoration Hardware located at Taubman Outlets.
I love this rug! The color and pattern are wonderful and the size is just right. It is 8x10, perfect for a cozy seating area without covering a large area of tile.
We are all set for chilly autumn mornings in the hearth room.
Little by little, I am bringing out Fall.
Save the date, mark your calendars, make a note…September 23 thru September 27 I am participating in a Fall home tour with 24 other bloggers. I plan to put together Fall vignettes, mantels, and other new looks especially for this event.
