I came to the conclusion that I would make a Fall vignette every week and by the time Fall officially arrives, I would be just about ready to decorate.
I do move a tad slow.
I remake or do new arrangements for each season. I have one or two I can find in storage that won’t need any work. The large welcome basket is one of those arrangements. It might be nice if I could just go to one container or other and draw out seasonal things all ready to go. I don’t think I would have as much fun. Therefore, I choose to start putting together this and that about 3 or 4 weeks before the season change. I usually wait awhile to put them out after they are finished. But the one I made today is out to stay.
I found a few stems and picks in my older silks and added them to a few I picked up at Evergreen a couple of weeks ago. The candleholder is one from several years ago. It is part of a set of three different sized hurricanes.
The vintage Cocker Spaniel planter has been around our house, many many years.
Before Molly (our Labrador Retriever), there was Buffi Anne. Buffi came to live with us in 1984. She brought us much love and entertainment until 1997 when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Buffi had some pretty fancy relatives. Her grandfather worked for Ralston Purina. Perhaps you remember the old Purina commercial featuring the Cocker Spaniel. That was Buffi’s G’pa.
In the photo below, she is seen on our bed at the farm. This was one of her favorite spots.
Gabi and Drew’s mommy…the youngest daughter, liked to dress Buffi Anne and pose her for photos here and there. Buffi was very patient.
When I was putting together this little vignette, I found the planter and decided to use it. It always reminds me of our sweet girl, Buffi.
