Dear fellow dish fanatics…she is on her way back. I thought I would take a nap Monday, late morning, but encountered a tiny problem. I kept seeing this table. No matter how many dishes, instead of sheep, I counted, I did not fall asleep.
I asked J to help me gather four Mikasa French Countryside plates, and a few other bits and pieces. Of course, he agreed. I thought I might just put together one place setting of what I was thinking about, but one thing led to another. You knew it would.
The large white bowl of faux fruit works well as a centerpiece.
April Cornell napkin and Lenox napkin ring, plus square quilted placemats from HomeGoods. Green glassware and flatware from Target, a few years ago.
Floral plates are Mikasa Garden Toscana Porcelain.
Setting small, simple, no frills tables and posting about them on my small, simple, no frills blog…good medicine.
We are considering painting the dining room table. The top is marred. The finish seems soft. I don’t know if we will paint or hire someone.
If you were to paint this table, what color or finish would you choose? One consideration is a faux aged look in a lighter color. Another is black with a sturdier finish. I am open to ideas you might have.
