To clarify a bit of confusion about the condo, I am sharing a few photos, showing how the condo has looked through the years and talk about why we are selling.
For newer readers, the condo is our second home, at Lake of the Ozarks. We’ve owned it 10 years. It is now listed for sale.
We are selling because, at our age, keeping up with two homes is somewhat of a challenge. Another reason would be J’s health issues, especially those making an appearance in 2012.
As soon as we listed the condo, we said to each other, what if we buy a house at the lake. Don’t worry family, the thought remained only a brief moment, before we came to our senses.
From the kitchen through the great room, before carpet was replaced. You can see the edge of the green cabinet we brought home, to use on the back porch.
Entry hall at Christmas time. The table is now in our breakfast room at home. The framed photos are above the sofa at the condo. These are photos I shot around the lake.
The entry hall as it appears today. The gallery wall is simply framed calendar pages showing wooden boats. These were formerly above the sofa.
Current dining area in the great room of the condo. The table is reclaimed barn wood. Butterfly prints from Pottery Barn several years ago.
The condo deck in 2009. The table and chairs are now on our back porch at home.
The deck in 2011 and 2012. The round table in front of the glider is now serving as a coffee table in the condo great room.
The master bedroom before new flooring was installed.
Pergo Driftwood Pine was installed throughout the condo during September 2012.
Hallway/guest bath. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the 1250 square foot condo.
Guest Room One
This room is furnished with a Pottery Barn bed that belonged to eldest daughter and son in law. It was stained pine. We painted it creamy white.
Guest Room Two
The second guest room has a sidewalk sale headboard and metal and glass Pier One table. The table is another hand me down from the kids. Both guest rooms now have Pergo Driftwood Pine flooring.
We added paintable bead board wallpaper and cottage look brackets under the cabinets.
When we bought our condo, in 2003, it was still under construction. We signed the contract on my 60th birthday, that July. Pretty neat birthday gift! We moved in Labor Day weekend.
British Colonial was the style I worked with in 2003. I got wonderful bargains, from local sidewalk sales, on tables, a sofa and chair. Through the years, the condo evolved into a lighter waterside cottage look. This style fits us much better than the darker British Colonial style. Condo master bedroom Fall 2007.
This is a photo from Fall 2008 when we were choosing new paint colors. We went with a light grey for the great room and hallway and a dark grey/taupe for the kitchen above the cabinets, the breakfast bar and one wall in the entry hall.
Eventually we painted the bedrooms Sherwin Williams Antique White. The master bath was painted with leftover Sherwin Williams Interesting Aqua, our old dining room color.
This photo and the one above, give an idea of how the style has evolved to a lighter cottage look, from the darker early look of the condo.

Our condo is surrounded by Lake of the Ozarks State Park. Our view is park land. It is protected from future construction.
