The blog break was fairly productive. I needed to take time away from blogland to prepare our Lake of the Ozarks condo for listing. We finished the work Thursday morning, just in time for our appointment with the listing agent. We bought the condo 10 years ago and have enjoyed it so much. The grandkids especially love time at the lake.
Over the past year, we have noticed a bit of a slow down in our stamina. Keeping two homes can be challenging. Our stamina and J’s health issues are the reasons for downsizing to one home to worry with.
We hope to continue visiting the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, renting a place to stay. No work, just relaxation and fun.
The colorful flower pot is from HomeGoods.
The butterfly prints are from Pottery Barn a few years ago.
The custom reclaimed wood table is staying with the condo.
I assessed the staging situation and decided a HomeGoods visit was needed. I had a short list. New accent pillows, a rug, and something for above a dresser. However, you know what happens always happens. The plan was altered when we saw this bench. We justified the purchase by promising ourselves it can be used here at home.
The photo on the window frame is one I took at Table Rock Lake a couple of years ago; sailboats at a marina.
Deb asked about the flooring. This September 16,2012 post shows the progress of installation of the flooring. The flooring is Pergo Laminate Driftwood Pine. We are very satisfied with this product.
Driftwood from the lake and vase with faux green twigs for the hearth.
When the new flooring was finished, last year, I bought this small rug for in front of the sofa, because I couldn’t find a larger one I liked at that time. I needed something to keep the bench from marring the floor, until I could find a larger rug.
Last week, I found a rug that would work for this area and moved the smaller one to the kitchen. I didn’t get a photo of how it looks in the kitchen. It works great in that area.
We brought the bench home to use at the end of the bed in a guest room.
This rug is about 9x7 and works well for the sitting area of the family room. I brought this vintage metal table in from the deck, to act as a coffee table. The rug is from HomeGoods. It is one of just a few things I purchased for staging. Everything else came from home or around the condo.
This photo, from Fall 2012, shows the entry hall as it appeared after the new flooring was installed. I didn’t do any new staging for the listing. The framed boat prints are calendar pages in inexpensive frames from Michaels.
I bought two of these pillows and two blue quilted pillows at HomeGoods, when I was there buying the rug, etc.
Sepia photos, I shot around the lake, are above the sofa.
New mirror, in master bedroom, from HomeGoods.
More of my photos, shot around the lake, are above this guest room bed.
Small guest room greens and blues.
Quiet cove, beautiful sunrises and other views from the deck.
Twenty five photo post! Wow, it’s been awhile since I added that many photos. Oh well, I’ve been away since last Tuesday. I’m making up for lost time.

I was asked about keeping ferns happy indoors. Misting is suggested and don’t allow the fern to sit in water. That goes for outdoors as well. I imagine the fern in our dining room will find it’s way to the back porch sooner or later. They always seem to shed indoors, after awhile.
