Thank you Brenda, of Cozy Little House, for the wonderful feature of our home and BPM, today.
All around the back porch, it is time for seasonal change. Springtime arrives this week, even though snow is falling this Saint Patrick’s Day morning.
My idea was to have coffee, semi homemade doughnuts and fruit, beside the back porch fireplace. However, the cooler temperature and chilly precipitation caused me to have second thoughts.
It has been a few years since I made doughnuts from refrigerated biscuits. I was inspired By Michael of Rattlebridge Farm.

I filled some of the doughnuts with lemon pudding. Others are filled with raspberry preserves.
VITAMIN C
We had our flu shots last fall and followed all the necessary precautions. Of course, we got the flu. We were not well most of last week. We slept a lot and tried to keep hydrated. We aren’t quite out of the woods yet; hoping for complete recovery by midweek.
Family News
This is the beginning of a busy week for our family. Our sweet granddaughter and her sweetie will be married Saturday March 23rd. The location has been moved to the church, since the lakeside wedding site is slightly under the weather.
Back porch fireplace before seasonal change.
Mantel after Spring additions.
The evergreen topiaries were found at The Schaefer House, Jefferson City, after Christmas. I placed the trees in clay pots that were painted with ASCP Old White. I added a few multicolored wooden eggs and placed the pots on either side of the mantel. The weather vane bunny was purchased at Target several years ago. The gate is vintage. Fireplace screen is made of three decorative panels, zip tied together.
