FOYER & LIVING ROOM
Sherwin Williams Nomadic Desert continues into the foyer and living room, from the dining room.
New trim was added above the front door. The door was painted black.
Molly gives her seal of approval.
LIVING ROOM BEFORE…
The first before photo shows the living room Spring 2011. The second was taken Winter 2012. The wall color is a sort of antique white. When we decided to paint the dining room, we made the decision do the living room and upstairs hallway. The powder room and foyer were also included in the makeover.
THE LIVING ROOM AFTER
A coat of paint works wonders.
Do you see changes other than paint?
The sofa fabric is a tone on tone beige herringbone.
I like the single square picture above the sofa, but that could change. It fits in with my idea of de-cluttering and less is more, around the house.
Looking around for something to put atop the secretary.
HEARTH ROOM PREVIEW
We are working on a rearrange of the hearth room. The wingback chairs needed replacing so we went gallivanting around looking for two new chairs, without luck. I knew what I was looking for, just couldn’t find it.
Then we found the herringbone living room sofa and I had a light bulb moment.
We bought the sofa and moved the other one to the hearth room.
Instead of two chairs with ottoman, we are using a sofa and chair.
As always, there is more to the story.
Stay tuned for the next episode of the hearth room makeover.
Almost all day, Mother’s Day, was spent on the back porch. I made a pitcher of blackberry tea.
Sherry at The Charm of Home posted the recipe.
HAPPENINGS
As you can see from this post, things have been bustling around our house.
Besides the room redo’s, the AC decided it was time for a wake up call. The repair guy was here Saturday morning. Not too bad…could be worse…we can deal with that sort of problem.
Our oldest daughter’s mother in law passed away. We were at visitation in St Louis Saturday afternoon.
With all that is happening, I haven’t been a very good blogger, lately. However, the pace is beginning to slow, so I am looking forward to visiting this week.
Perhaps our delightful weather will continue and I can visit from our back porch.
