J’s retreat, better known as “the lodge”, is a room in our basement.
My contribution for Fall Cloche Party, is a corner of the room, furnished with bits and pieces J has collected through the years.
Side table and foot stool handmade of sassafras twigs by a Missouri artisan.
Hand knotted Sumac rug found on Ebay.
The throw is Bob Timberlake.
We brought in the brown patio chairs for Fall and Winter.
The stack of books belonged to J’s Dad.
The log house atop the cabinet in the background is made of lath from a restored building in Historic Saint Charles Missouri.
The painting is one of mine. It shows the lane that led to our home in the back pasture of the farm.
The pack basket, over 70 years old, once belonged to a friend of ours. He used the basket for it’s intended purpose during the 1940’s.
The footstool was a gift from friends.
Crocks on the hearth and beside the pack basket were found at auctions.
The skis are from a Lebanon Missouri antique shop several years ago.
The fireplace is one of three in our home. This one and the one in the hearth room are gas. The fireplace on the back porch is wood burning.
We also have a small electric fireplace/stove in the master bedroom.
We found the signed and numbered print at a garage sale.
The binoculars and case belonged to J’s Great Aunt.
The antlers were found at an antique shop in Marshfield Missouri.
The cigar jar is one of J’s country auction finds.
We are in the midst of making a few changes to the lodge. I’ll show more of the room as the work progresses.
