SOME THINGS
STAY THE SAME…
before
When the secretary was moved from the foyer to the living room, over winter, I began putting together a different look for the foyer.
My dream foyer table is weathered and worn and larger than the one seen in these photos. It will come along one of these days, perhaps. Until then I am using this black table, moved in from the master bedroom. This is the way the foyer looked when I began the makeover.
Later, I brought in a large lidded basket for beneath the table and changed out the lamp, with one from another room.
The chair was moved to a guest room and a different vignette was arranged on the table, recently.
after
The most recent vignette remains the same, however, the lamp has been replaced. While shopping HomeGoods, Monday morning, I found this dark blue lamp. I placed it in the cart, on speculation, knowing all the while it was going home with me. The lamp is Lauren by Ralph Lauren. In my opinion, like everything RL does, this lamp is perfection.
I found the bench, beneath the table, at Marshall’s Osage Beach, last week. I was looking for an ottoman for Molly when I just stumbled across this little beauty. I knew it would be just the right piece for beneath the foyer table. While the lidded basket is nice and I will use it in another room, I never really warmed to it in the foyer.
I also found Molly’s ottoman(not shown), which is used at the lake.

PAT GETS MAIL
After we spent 9 days at the lake, this container was filled to the brim by the time we picked it up at the post office Monday morning. atop the stack was a package I could hardly wait to open.
A few weeks ago I won a giveaway at On Sutton Place.
The giveaway included this pretty white pitcher. You, dear readers, know how I feel about white pitchers.
The gorgeous linen and burlap pillow cover was made by the author of On Sutton Place . The lace piece was made by her grandmother. I just happened to have a down insert that fit the cover perfectly.
The pillow and pitcher are wonderful additions to our home.
Thank you Ann.
Please stop by On Sutton Place. It’s a beautiful blog.
