welcome
I found the basket at Three French Hens, during our day trip, last Friday.
I filled it with silk lavender from our basement storage.
Lavender grows in our side garden. I hope to harvest and dry enough for the basket this coming Summer.
After we bought the round ottoman for the hearth room, the room seemed a little crowded with the bench in front of the fireplace.
The bench, with woven seat and barley twist legs, has found a new home on the landing where I have tried several different tables and benches, without finding the right fit.
This new addition seems to be the right one.
The cabinet crown was a discovery, found at Artichoke Annie’s Antiques, Columbia MO, during our recent drive to the lake. I love these pieces of the past used in different applications than originally intended.
The mirror is a quick fix, while I look for another. I bought it about 15 or so years ago at Old Time Pottery. Just before I made the purchase I saw a mirror, exactly like this one, advertised in a magazine. The price in the advertisement was around $200+shipping, as I remember. I paid $30 for mine.
It was formerly in one of the bathrooms of our farm home.
I’m not sure this post is a “wowser”. I enjoyed making these few changes so decided to add them to Kim’s Wow Us Wednesday.
This is a week of several appointments, consuming our time. I put this post together, very quickly, Monday morning (21st), before driving to St Louis for doctor visits (good reports for both of us).
I have another post ready for Tablescape Thursday, I’ll publish Wednesday.
I’ll be around to visit as time allows.
As I prepare to begin the 5th year at the Back Porch, I believe I am going to try composing several posts in one or two days, for publishing at different times to see how that works for me.
Of course I enjoy fly by the seat of my pants, spur of the moment posts, too. So my little plan for more organized blogging may fall by the wayside quickly.
