IN THE DINING ROOM
As I wrote, in the previous post, a sofa and two chairs have been ordered, necessitating a rearrange of the existing furniture. This could wait until closer to delivery time. However, we are experiencing a little bit of bad weather, rearranging and editing the dining room will brighten up the room and help chase winter blues.
My mother’s cabinet has been moved downstairs, along with the paisley sofa, from the living room. I am gathering a few things, from around the house, for a little change in the “lodge”.
We brought the hutch base into the dining room and added the mirror, I painted over the weekend.
The small pine cabinet was brought in from the living room. I am sort of thinking about painting the cabinet.
A Lenox bowl and Godinger cake plate sit on the dining room table. An oval covered platter/vegetable server (from Costco several years ago) is on the pine cabinet. Above the pine cabinet is a pencil sketch of our home, done by a local artist, as a gift from the local garden club when our home was on tour, Christmas 2006.
I added a plate stand and two plates to the tray arrangement from last week’s tablescape.
I brought these three prints out from storage.

I am considering painting the piece, above the prints, to further brighten the room.
Although the room has a sort of sparse look, I like it. I am sure bits and pieces will be added.
For now, this new look is a much needed spirit lift.

Pam of DIY Design Fanatic, asked to see close ups of the dining room chair slipcovers. The slipcovers were included in the purchase of the chairs.
We have freezing rain this morning. J and I are prepared for a power outage, should one occur. Snow is expected after the ice storm. We may have a foot or more, atop what already exists, before all is said and done.
Hoping to stay warm!
