~2011~
I shot the photo of black eyed peas, in wine stems, in 2009.
Dining on black eyed peas, New Years Day, is said to bring luck and prosperity.
I have eaten black eyed peas on New Years Day for at least 50 years and probably closer to 60.
I have had a good life, black eyed peas or not.
Do you have New Years traditions?
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
~Alfred, Lord Tennyson, 1850
A happy New Year!
Grant that I
May bring no tear to any eye When this New Year in time shall end
Let it be said I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year. ~Edgar Guest
All the best in the New Year!
