Living in the back pasture all those years prepared me in the intricacies of staving off cabin fever.
So far so good, the past several days, while we are staying indoors avoiding subzero temperatures. Today we are beginning to see double digits above zero and a heat wave is predicted. Could it be January thaw already?
This shot of the dining room was done with a point and shoot Canon Powershot camera. All other photos for this post were done using the Canon Rebel T2i and a 50mm lens.
The 50mm lens and a 60mm lens are two of my favorites. I did not use a tripod with either camera. I just hurriedly took a few photos for this post.
The table is set with Pfaltzgraff Antiqued Hen and Royal Stafford.
Do you recognize the rug? It was in the living room until this week, when we moved it to the dining room…all because of Downton Abbey and a 300K Aubusson carpet in crimson.
I ordered a hand knotted rug, for the living room, from Overstock. It is expected to arrive Friday. The cost was considerably less than 300K.

I’m leaving the silver deer on the sconces for Winter. I might even leave them through Spring. I like how they look in the dining room.
Shutters are propped in the corner behind the plant stand.
Are you warming up your home for Winter? Beginning Monday and all through next week you can find inspiration for Winter warm ups, here at Back Porch Musings and 24 other blogs.
