~Creating a Cozy Living Room~
I ordered the hand knotted wool rug from Overstock, hoping to give warmth, as in color warmth, to the living room. The rug works it’s magic in the room.
I gathered bric-a-brac from around the house, adding additional textures to the living room.
While creating a cozy room in our home, I keep in mind, this is indeed our home. Our style might not suit everyone, but it is what makes us happy.
Believe it or not, J contributes to the style of our home. He lives here too, so it is important his ideas are incorporated. Fortunately, we both like traditional, with a bit of country/farmhouse in some rooms, and a tad bit of lodge in others. Overall, the combined style is traditional.
Blue and white pieces were added atop the secretary to tie in with the blue and white Ralph Lauren lamps.
I enjoy studying different aspects of interior design and in fact embrace all styles. I am interested in seeing how a plan comes together whether it is traditional, like our home, or mid century style, cottage, ultra modern, lodge, or a myriad of other ideas; just as I am interested in different artistic styles and concepts.
It is my hope you broaden your horizons and accept differing views of what makes a home. It is a delightful journey.
I also hope you enjoyed our comfort zone and all the other fabulous Creating a Cozy Home contributions.
