Just a quick post. One of our favorite desserts to file away for Valentines.
We spent the day yesterday, shopping for wedding clothes and gifts and such.
This is requested, most often, by our sweetheart granddaughter. Her wedding, just a couple months away, will be here before we know it.
DEATH BY CHOCOLATE
Death by Chocolate
1 large box instant chocolate pudding
2 medium containers whipped topping or 2 pints of heavy cream, whipped
1 brownie mix, prepared, cooled and crumbled
10 Heath Bars, crushed
Strawberries or Cherries for garnish
Trifle bowl or other deep bowl
Prepare pudding with 2 cups milk, let set then fold in one container whipped topping.
In trifle bowl or deep bowl begin layering ingredients with a portion of crumbled brownies, next a layer of pudding/whipped topping mix, followed by a layer of crumbled Heath Bar, top candy with a layer of plain whipped topping. Repeat layering twice more, ending with a large dollop of whipped topping. Sprinkle more crushed Heath Bar and add a cherry, strawberry or, if you would like to include more chocolate, use chocolate shavings as the garnish.
There are several variations of Death by Chocolate. I found this one while viewing a local home/lifestyle program several years ago. This is a family favorite I only prepare for special occasions.
The recipe and mosaic appeared at BPM in 2010. I thought it worthy of repost in time for Valentine’s Day 2013.
