Bits & Pieces
A SECRETARIAL VIGNETTE
Bookish bunny, with and without cloche.
ACQUIRED READING
Friday afternoon, we took the Camaro for a spin. We found Real Jazz on Sirius and enjoyed the ride, as always.
While out and about we made stops at HomeGoods and B&N. I picked up the The White Issue of Country Living, The English Country Home, and the British edition of Country Living. While at B&N, J and I chose a few books from the bargain tables. Castles of Britain and Ireland, Muscle Car Chronicle, and Audubon’s The Birds of America.
I smiled and said thank you when the gentleman, at the desk, asked if anyone ever told me I look a lot like Paula Deen. J said, and she is as good a cook, too. That made my day.
VIGNETTE IN PROGRESS
I love the lamp selection at HomeGoods. I’ve been on the lookout for buffet lamps for awhile. I saw the lamp I had in mind as soon as I walked in the store. I picked it up and went looking for it’s twin and found it hidden in the middle of other lamps. I didn’t hesitate one second. Those lamps went into the cart. They sure got a lot of attention as I shopped. I knew I had made the right decision. For now they flank a white bowl on the dining room chest. I am sure this vignette will evolve.
TABLESCAPE
SPODE ITALIAN
I am putting together a blue and white table for an upcoming Let’s Dish and Tablescape Thursday.
My friend, Charla, left a comment on my Mid Century post.

I was in the home many times in the 70's and 80's. The owner is a lovely, talented woman who wears her age well. She has always been very active in the community. Thanks for sharing the remodel and the lovely home.
Thanks Charla, It was wonderful hearing from someone who knows the owner of this beautiful home.

BLOGGING NEWS
It is the 5th day of the new year and this is my 5th post. I haven’t deliberately set out to post every day. It just happened that five ideas popped into my head and, as usual, I published posts, right away, rather than make a note of the ideas for later. I’ve never made a plan or a list of what I want to blog about. I just blog. These five posts are a potpourri, indeed. I don’t know if I will continue posting every day. That might require some thought. I like to blog without effort.
ONE MORE NOTE
While at Facebook, this week, I happened upon a post by City Farmhouse, with a link to The Jefferson House. If you are on Facebook, click the link for photos of this gorgeous vacation rental, located in beautiful Franklin TN. I am not being compensated for this mention. I am doing this, because Jefferson House touched a special note. In fact, as soon as J and I have a minute, we are going to try to figure out how we can make a return trip to Franklin for a stay at this home. If you are not on FB, you can find more info about The Jefferson House, HERE.
Enjoy your weekend!
