JUST A NOTE
Downton Abbey is much older than Biltmore, however, I can’t help comparing the two. The era in which the series is set is the same as when Biltmore was young.
When we toured Biltmore, one rainy December day in 2007, we imagined what it must have been like to live there, when it was new, upstairs and down. Downton Abbey brings that time to life.
J enjoys Downton Abbey as much as I. He reminded me, the other day, season three is here.
An amazing cast of characters, fabulous sets and costumes bring authenticity to Downton Abbey. You actually feel the stories, fall in love with heroes and heroines and hiss/boo the villains with delight.
Do you watch Downton Abbey?
The photos, for this post, are from the archives of the original Back Porch Musings. My first Canon DSLR camera was fairly new and I was still trying to figure it out. I have a newer version of that camera now and I am still trying to figure it out.

Last year, I read about Downton Abbey at Slim Paley, a fabulous blog you might enjoy exploring. Slim Paley is the author’s nom de plume. She uses a mix of subjects, professional photos and her own fabulous photography. Slim has a wonderful conversational writing style; an easy read with lots of eye candy. I recommend a visit, HERE.
