AND OTHER NEWS

I always dread answering the phone when it rings early in the morning or late at night.
Monday morning, before daylight, the phone rang. It was Xanti’s mommy, calling to tell us Xanti had just returned home from ER. K. called early so I would get the news before Xanti posted to FB.
I posted at Facebook, but wanted to share the news with everyone here, as well.
Thank you all for your notes, thoughts and prayers!
Late Sunday, early Monday, Xanti had very bad abdominal pain. Finally after several hours she gave in and went to the hospital. She was given an IV and advised to see her doctor, then released from ER. After she was home awhile, she realized the pain was not going to go away. She tried to see her doctor but the earliest appointment was the following day. After calling several others without success in getting an earlier appointment, she returned to ER.
Xanti was admitted to hospital, an ultra sound was done at that time. It was determined she needed Gall Bladder surgery, as soon as possible.
While we waited at home to get the latest news, I put together the dining room arrangement, above. It has always been my practice to stay busy at times like these.
We spent Monday afternoon into evening at the hospital. Surgery was scheduled for the next day. That was yesterday. According to the surgeon, Xanti’s Gall Bladder was in horrible shape. She came through the surgery wonderfully well.

THE NEWS CONTINUES
Last Friday I had a note from eldest daughter, late in the evening. She and her husband were at the lake, in anticipation of a day of golf. When they arrived at the condo, they discovered the air conditioner was frozen solid. This was my fault. I forgot to turn it off when we left last time. I had visions of $$$$$ flying out the window! They, along with someone from the management group, cleared the ice.
J called a heating and cooling company and made an appointment for yesterday afternoon.
Knowing Xanti would be fine, we headed to the lake early yesterday (Tuesday).
All the excitement caused me to have a serious need for retail therapy. Fortunately, eldest daughter sent some of her weekend purchases along with us, to be returned. I used that as the perfect excuse for shopping.
Ross has arrived at the lake. My first time in the store was yesterday. I found the animal print wrap. I love this look! After looking around Ross and picking up a set of bags for Gabi, I walked next door to HomeGoods. I found the sweater and a few other things there.

Can’t wait to wear this!

Gabi’s new bags for Polly Pockets and other treasures.

These plates jumped in the cart and begged me to take them home.
That’s my story and I am sticking to it.
GOOD NEWS
And so, the good news. Xanti is going to be fine, she is on her way home.
Gabi has her stitches out…
and we didn’t have to spend the kids’ inheritance to have the AC repaired.

This is a collage of the Merb’s apple, J and I shared the other day.
The fun graphics are from PicMonkey. I recommend a visit.
After our exciting early part of the week and the quick day trip to the lake, we are enjoying a restful day at home.
