Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.
~Washington Irving~
Have we finished Christmas 2012 decorating?
Does a deer on the front porch mean it’s time to sit back, relax, and enjoy?
I don’t know…
I’m sure we will see lots of inspiration on the home tour, Sunday afternoon. Who knows, we might just come home and dig another of those containers out of the basement.
We shall see…
Meanwhile, here is the front porch.
Just a simple wreath, with burlap bow and urns with live Alberta Spruce and tiny lights.
We can’t forget the fellow, watching the sky, waiting for Santa Claus.
It's the most wonderful time of the year.
With the kids jingle belling,
And everyone telling you,
"Be of good cheer,"
It's the most wonderful time of the year.
~Eddie Pola, George Wyle, 1963~
Waiting for Santa…
"And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more." - Dr. Suess
CHRISTMAS EVE~2007
Even though this photo has nothing to do with wreaths or doors, I am adding it here. One of my favorites, it was taken my first Christmas at Back Porch Musings.
My my my…how those kidlets have grown!

T’was the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
