NOW AND THEN
A CATCH UP POST FROM THE BACK PORCH
Tuesday was one of those 15 hour days out and about, for us. As spry as we are, those long days tend to wear us out more than they did five or ten years ago.
J had a check up, in St Louis, early in the morning; a good report. During the afternoon we took another look at the little cottage style home, we are considering. Had a pretty serious conversation with the development representative. That conversation stretched from afternoon to well into evening. One thing led to another and we found ourselves returning to our hotel room after dark. Our day began around 6AM and sleepy time was around midnight.
We treated ourselves to lunch at McGurk’s Pub in O’Fallon MO, between appointments.
This trip home, we opted for staying in a hotel rather than at our home.
Because our lodging and schedule are erratic these days, with all our traipsing from one place to another, my blogging time is disrupted.
I wanted to add a little check in post and came up with the evolution of our dining room.
DINING ROOM IN LOWE’S LAURA ASHLEY GOLD 2007
I don’t recall when this photo was taken. I believe sometime around 2007.
And then came Sherwin Williams Interesting Aqua about three or four years ago.
This shot shows the table extended and the chairs without the slipcovers. These were included with the purchase of the table and chairs.
I still have the botanicals, in hopes of using them in another room/home.
PRESENT DAY, SHERWIN WILLIAMS NOMADIC DESERT.
Shame on me, the table looks almost as it did when I set it in June. The placemats, napkins and rings are still on the table. The centerpiece is the same except I exchanged the sunflowers for faux greenery.
I entertained the thought of resetting the table, this trip home, but that 15 hour day yesterday put all thought of it right out of my mind.
We have appointments today. Hoping to return to the lake this afternoon, arriving there before dark.
We remain optimistic about our home sale. It has been a month since it was listed. That is a very short time without a sale, in the present market.
We hope to pace ourselves and rest between these marathon trips home.
I will try to get some new photos and write a few little notes later this week.
We ordered the flooring for the condo. Went with practical, keeping in mind the condo is our little weekend place, not meant to be a grand showplace. More about that in another post.
I am visiting, but not always stopping long enough for commenting. I long to put my feet up, spending the day talking with you all.
