A LIBRARY
IN THE LODGE
When you last visited the lodge, there was a reading corner.
In prepping the house, we moved my desk to the lodge and the comfy wing chair was taken to the master bedroom seating area.
The round table and chairs were brought downstairs from the hearth room.
We found several stacks of books on the shelves in the storage room, off the lodge. I had no idea just how many books!
I arranged them in the shelves, in a sort of disorderly/orderly way. Maybe I will organize the shelves, after I have a nap.
When the hearth room was featured on Hometalk Weekend Spaces, someone asked, where are the books.
Here are the books…in J’s lodge.
There are novels, mysteries, cookbooks, history books, travel books, boat books, car books and kid books. Of course, as if you did not know, there are decorating books.
A basket of crayons and coloring books, sit on a shelf, with the other kid books and an old school desk sits in one corner, ready for the G’kids.
I am sure there will be additions to this library. There are a couple or three shelves of favorite paperbacks still remaining in the back room. Old favorites, including Agatha Christie. There is quite a collection of books, both hardbound and paperback, at the lake.
XANTI AND CHELSEA
This is our bride to be Xanti with her precious Chelsea. The photo was taken on the farm, late 90’s. Xanti was around 7 or so. That is our pond in the background. This was the view from our front porch.
CHELSEA’S STORY
Chelsea was a special after Christmas gift from G’pa when Xanti was around a year and a half old.
I found the photo while going through odds and ends. I know it slows us down, in our house prepping, to stop and reminisce, but isn’t it wonderful.
I put the photo on Xanti’s Facebook status this morning. Her mother Kimmy commented that they should buy Chelsea a new dress to wear to the wedding. It wasn’t long until Xanti replied that of course Chelsea will be in her wedding. We think she might need a little trip to the doll hospital before the big event. While Xanti was growing up, we made this suggestion a time or two. But Xanti refused to be away from her Chelsea overnight. Chelsea’s Uncle Noah loves her very much too. Chelsea at 20, is a well loved doll. We all have special memories of Chelsea and Xanti growing up. So why shouldn’t Chelsea be a part of Xanti’s special day.
HAPPY WEEKEND!
