SWEET INNOCENCE
BACK PORCH WEEKEND
Images from the first month of Back Porch Musings, March 2007, in celebration of the 5th anniversary.
Who knew I would still be rambling and musing on the Back Porch, 5 years later.
Thanks to Kim at Daisy Cottage and Rhoda, at Southern Hospitality.
With their blogging inspiration and encouragement over the winter of ‘07, Back Porch Musings was born at Blogger. During September 2010, Back Porch Musings moved to Typepad.
I met Rhoda and Kim at Great Impressions around 2002. GI is a private home décor and lifestyle forum I happened upon when we were “house planning”, the year before we built our home.

EVOLUTION OF A BLOG~A METAMORPHOSIS
All the photos, in the posts from March 2007, were done with a Kodak EasyShare P-850. A point and shoot camera I dropped at Nell Hill’s (Atchison KS), during May 2007. No hope for the damaged Kodak.
Later that month we had a huge garage sale. The proceeds were used to buy my first Canon Rebel (xti).
I replaced that camera with a Canon Rebel (t2i), passing along the Rebel xti to granddaughter Xanti, a professional photographer growing her own business at the age of 21. She has an amazing gift for photography and a fabulous camera and lenses. Xanti used my little Rebel xti as an extra backup camera.
I have added lenses and other equipment over the last 5 years.
I’ve practiced practiced practiced and I continue to practice! Hopefully I have learned a thing or two about photography and editing along the way.
Looking back at that first month in the land of blog, I can see the variety of subjects in the posts. I hope to keep that variety in future posts.
I want to do more writing.
A series of posts featuring beautiful blogs is in the works for Back Porch Musings. Even though the series is still in the planning stages, I am excited about the research.
THANK YOU!
Without your continued encouragement, Back Porch Musings might have fallen along the wayside. J and I appreciate your sweet support during all the good times and other times, over the years.
As always, this little hobby of mine is dedicated to our beautiful grandchildren.
